Costa Rica- Day 6

Today began like every other day, however it was soon to prove it's differences. Today, we had a group from Illinois working with us. Some where quick to build friendships, others found working with a critical people to be difficult. Jeff and I shared the job of filling buckets with rocks in order to make the cement. Each batch of cement took around 20 buckets of rocks. We shoveled and shoveled and it wasn't before long that the sweat and dirt mixed to give us our temporary tans. We would shovel our 20 buckets and then bask in the sun, giving our backs a break, until it was time to make another batch. We spent the day working hard and teaching team Illinois how to do the jobs we had become so good at! It was our last day at the work site so it was time to hand over the reigns! We headed in an hour early so that we could make it an extra long soccer game! And after dinner we had a special treat. We took all of the cooks out for ice cream to thank them for their hard work! We walked along the dark busy street, being careful to stay on the grass and not get hit by cars. We had too many people for the little ice cream shop so we piled into a line that went way beyond the doors. We all enjoyed the delicious Costa Rican ice cream!
