Costa Rica- Day 10

Today arrived at the crack of dawn! The alarm clocks loudly rang at 4:30 am but it was nothing in comparison to the windstorm that whistled through the windows and made drum beats on our tin roof all night long. We sleepily wheeled our luggage down to the bottom of the hill and rode all the way to the airport in silence. This mission trip was different than any other trip that I have been on but had just as big of an impact on me. It is hard to sum up in writing everything that goes on in my head but the big difference is the other trips I have been on I have been left wanting more, wanting to go back. This trip has left me wanting to bring it all back! Unconditional love, service, joy. I don't want it to only last a week, I want my life to be a mission. I serve an awesome God.

Costa Rica- Day 9

A group of us enjoyed a delicious breakfast at a cute little Caribbean restaurant and we even saw a monkey!!! Then we said goodbye to the beach and climbed into the bus for a 5 hour drive back! We stopped for an authentic lunch and had tamales- the opinions about these definitely differed! Back on the bus and back to the homestead of Carrillos de Poas for one last day in the bunkhouse! Later that night we had dinner and celebrated Lyle's birthday! and too top of a wonderful trip God painted a beautiful sunset in the Costa Rican sky :)

Costa Rica- Day 8

Today we were blessed with a beautiful day at the beach! Some of the group went zip lining but some of us just chilled, went out to breakfast and enjoyed the gorgeous weather! After a 3 hour lunch we packed up and walked to the beach! Most of us decided to stay on shore after only a few short minutes of swimming due to the black itchy debris that swarmed everywhere in the water. There were sandcastle wars and surfing attempts as well as good conversations at the beach. Showering the gunk off was a different story. Jordan and I had what can be called the problem room. First she shower scalded me, then shocked me, then had no pressure and then the power went out. So basically our bathroom and I were not friends! Janey, Jeff and I had a great afternoon of shopping and chatting! Then we all enjoyed a "Costa Rican Chinese" dinner out! With ice cream and worship after! It was a wonderful day/night! :)
